Education and work for foreigners in Poland – a practical guide
Under the Polish Constitution every person has the right to education. Moreover, education until 18 years of age is compulsory for all children living in Poland, regardless of their citizenship or residence title, including persons whose stay in Poland is undocumented. For adult foreigners, the possibility of receiving education in Poland is frequently associated with the necessity to pay fees (including public, state schools), and obtain a residence permit or a relevant visa. This refers in particular to foreign nationals whose primary purpose of temporary residence in Poland is education, including studies.
